Dear Ms. Goodrum,
The entries I chose are related to my life. In the poem of nature, I chose that piece because I love nature. I think nature is beautiful and a very important part of life. Friendship is something I give a lot of importance to. I use to not have a lot of friends, because I was shy, but now since I have them I like to think they make a big difference in my life. Loneliness was something I had to face when I came to America. I like to believe that it did taught my a lot of things, especially self dependency. It also taught me how to make friends and be myself. Other two poems that were about heartbreak and goodbye is based on my fears. These are the two great fears of my life. I always have feared heart break because I have read so much about it. Heartbreaks occur when someone close breaks your trust. And that is something I am afraid of. When I left my country, I had to leave my friends and most of my family behind. Goodbyes are the hardest thing to do, that's why I fear them.
The other two pieces of writing I chose was because it was funny. I honestly am a very fun-loving person. I may have had a rough experience in life but I still love to smile. Smiling is a way for me to share happiness and that is something I like to do (ALOT). I also chose 3 pieces of writing from other poets. I chose a specific section from Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself" because I really like to listen to music. I also like how Whitman is giving credit to those that died, not just those that came back in victory. The other two pieces of writing were from Robert Frost, one of them was about making decisions and trying to not regret it. I can relate with that because making decisions are the hardest thing for me to do. Lastly, the last piece of Frost explains that not every good thing stays forever. I agree with that thought. I also like to think that even though it didn't last forever, at least it's a memory you are going to have forever..
